Re: Using 4ze1 dizzy for crank angle sensor Q's
Yeah I reckon I could have got a diploma in the time I spent researching, building and wiring my Megasquirt. I'm happy with the end result though, although I may need to reroute a couple of wires to get a more accurate signal.

Re: For all the guys who are still here
Sup Ant! Good to see you're still around! I've gotta drag you out to a cruise, we run them every few months but in our slackness have just been doing FailBook events for them. My other half has a coupe, not the neatest thing but still cool as hell, between yours and Dave's Buick Opel by Isuzu we'd h...

Re: Hows Everyones Stock Brakes Feel?
Check rear drum adjustment for sure. If in doubt you can clamp the rear soft line before the diff and try the brakes again, you should get like 1cm/stuff all pedal travel with the rear line clamped off. If you've adjusted the rear brakes but they still seem to be the culprit, you could have play in ...

Re: Pinging sound in engine
Just to add to what DR_GEM said, I think E10 is slightly higher octane rating... 94RON I think. You could try it with 98 versus 91 and see if it makes a difference. Also the gear won't matter. Figure out what kind of throttle position and rev range it happens in and try it in other gears with the sa...

Re: Rear brake disk donors
I reckon Javi will have an update for us soon
On a sidenote I noticed a Hyundai Getz the other day with 4x100 disc rears. Pretty sure it was a Getz, it was more than two hours ago so memory is hazy.

Re: 150 horsepower engine
Hahaha Toby with some absolute truth there!!! Gold! If you want displacement just go a G200Z, you couldn't really gain much more displacement than that from a G series without sacrificing either reliability or a stupid amount of money. If the block has to say 161, you might need to do some research ...

Glad you liked the write-up! It's definitely quicker for me to link it to folks rather than explain which LSDs fit what all the bloody time haha. Yeah honestly I can't remember what's what with the T piece, all I know is I didn't need anything made up or re-jiggered for the drift car. That was essen...

Re: Emissions, engineering & all the fun!
Thanks man, it's the VHT anodized look paint, you get a can of metallic silver base which actually looks pretty cool on its own, then you tint it with a separate can of colour. Only issue I had was the can said to do all coats within an hour, stupid advice, the top coat just blended with the base as...

Pending c*#nts got it wrong it doesn't fit post. Hahahaha  yeah story of my life... Good to know Amy's setup actually, I'm only chasing 230rwkw but I'll find out Monday what the magic number is... At least hard lines don't "need" changing for E85 but obviously E85 needs more fuelling...

Re: Isuzu gearboxes - 4 and 5 speeds
Great info here... the only thing I'll add is that the Piazza gearbox, like the MUA Rodeo gearbox, uses hydraulic operation and therefore either needs to be converted to cable, or the car converted to hydraulic, to work in a Gemini. If I had my time again I'd go cable for simplicity. Having said tha...

Re: AN fittings and hard fuel lines
depending on the model the lines vary between 5/16 and 1/4 if your going big hp etc you need to upgrade lines I'm not so sure about the need to upgrade. A lot of people say so but I've never heard anyone actually say their fuel lines were limiting flow. I read a decent tech article that crunched nu...

Re: PETROL FUMES PERSIST !?
+1 for checking over the black plastic vapour tank at the top left of the fuel tank. The hose fell off on my girlfriend's TD coupe and that was freaking pungent. It's possible it could also crack or otherwise leak, or as moley said if there's a screw through it you'll have a bad time.

Re: What are some different valve options for the 4ze1 head?
I went 2mm O/S on the exhaust (40mm valves) on my 4ZE1, still running standard size inlet valves. I used Thomas4Parts stainless steel valves, some work was required to make them fit but my machine shop sorted this out for me. http://www.ozgemini.com/forums/non-tech/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=27672 I'm...
