Re: Rodeo TB + G180Z = what even is idle?
The Piazza one may be similar, it's also twin butterfly. There's a massive inset flathead screw that controls the idle, there's also a secondary little external screw which acts as a stopper for the butterflies. Disregard the latter if possible, it's the big inset screw thing that should be used to ...

Re: 4zheadache Questions
Moley's on the money, just use whichever style dizzy the ECU has been set up for. Keep the mounting plate with the dizzy and you'll be fine. You will need to set the base timing to where it was on the old setup, if you're not sure what that was then there's an element of danger there, start retarded...

Re: Anyone had any luck stopping their dash needles from mov
That's strange, I've never pulled one apart myself but had been told by a fairly cluey chap that that's what the issue was. I know early dashes have a 5V supply somewhere that's used for the gauges, if the late model dash uses a 5V supply to the gauges also I'd be tracing it back and seeing where it...

Re: 4zheadache Questions
When I finally get my arse in gear and make it to another Nats, feel free to beer me, but that goes for anyone really :P A tune's a tune. It will probably work, but probably won't be perfect. Just like with a dizzy and carby jets, you're best off assessing once it's together, listen carefully for pi...

Re: Anyone had any luck stopping their dash needles from mov
I've heard that the TF-TG dashes have a voltage regulator inside them that stuffs out and needs to be replaced with another/a better unit, it could be that or just bad earths, best bet would be to take your cluster out, maybe try another one, figure out where it earths and go from there!

Re: For all the guys who are still here
Best thing I ever did. I also informed my employee today that if I catch him on it again in work time I'm going to sack him. My brother advertised his life on Facebook and got his shed broken into and all his stuff stolen including his bike. Smarts! This is what I worry about, on one hand I like to...

Re: Swapped motor now no start
Without seeing it it's pretty hard to diagnose, is it running a standard Nikki carby? If so, did you connect the wires? They operate the fuel cut solenoid and high idle solenoid I believe, so no fuel without power. Is the fuel bowl full of fuel? Did your old engine have a mechanical pump, and if so,...

^ What these guys said! I bought a tapped fitting for mine. Was this a new one, or second hand?

Re: list your turbo cam specs
Sorry for the late reply. Yeah, good guess! It's a Crow Cam. TBH it's so mild you wouldn't even know it has a cam. Idle is smooth at 1000rpm, it can go lower (700-800) but the Microtech ECU I'm using is pretty shite so it ends up stalling randomly then. If anything I'd say the cam I'm using is a lit...

Re: Turbo exhaust sizing 2.25" vs 2.5"
^ Yeah that sounds like an awesome way of doing it. And at the end of the day there's no substitute for R&D, every setup will be different, depending on turbo/boost/RPM/etc, though 2.25" would almost definitely be too small for a turbo making 200whp! A topic guaranteed to start sh1tfights, ...

Re: a/c install
If you buy an air con second hand, try to get one from a Gemini with the same era front end/rad support as yours. ie TX/C/D, -OR- TE/F/G. The reason being, late models have way more space in front of the condenser for the reservoir, so some late model setups put it there, and some of those may not f...

Re: For all the guys who are still here
I'm trying to get into the habit of checking back here regularly. OzGemini is about 20,000 times better than Facebook. The main reason I post so much stuff on Facebook is the free image hosting and quantity of interaction. Build threads are so much cooler and more rewarding, but my various image hos...

Re: Turbo exhaust sizing 2.25" vs 2.5"
Interesting info Moley. My personal thoughts would be that the exhaust gases cool and thus contract/get smaller along the pipe, so the same pressure/velocity would require a smaller pipe, I've seen this on an NA exhaust in Japan. In saying that, my dyno tuner recommended 3" all the way through ...

Re: new guy
Not sure I quite understand your problem - shouldn't be disconnecting the battery while the car's running, it can break stuff especially regulator and alternator! In saying that, I think what you're saying is that the battery isn't charging? Most likely either regulator, a fusible link or wiring to ...
