possible audio setups?

Post by L0WGEM »

i'm looking at buying a gemini for my first car and obviously sound is one thing that will be upgraded. i was looking at getting 2x 10" subs to be installed either side of the boot, two amps (one to run the subs off the other for speakers), 2x 6x9s for the parcel shelf and a decent headunit. if anyone could help me out in regards to amp setups or reccomend a better setup altogether (along the same sort of lines) that would be a massive help.

Cheers :)

what about front speakers???

dont worry about 6x9's or ever rear speakers.

good splits in the front is what you need.

id spend good money on splits and amps, then just get one good sub instead of 2 half assed ones

what is the advantage of splits over 6x9s? i hadn't considered fronts yet but i might as well go the whole nine yards and get two sets of splits so i can stick one in the back too :p

6x9s are primarily a bass driver. you have subs so you dont need 6x9.

splits are gonna give you way better quality sound

with splits in the front and subs in the boot you really only need mid ranges in the back and only if you want the passengers to get good sound

and what defines range? my knowledge on car audio is minimal at best, but i'll get there soon enough :p
i've found a gem online that already has a 12' sub plus 2 6x9s, neverless i'll most likely still invest in some splits plus the amps too :)

mid ranges are just normal speakers basically not splits

you money is best spent on amps and splits.. and sacrifice the sub if your trying to save money... you can upgrade it later.
clean sounding amps will be better on a cheaper sub then a cheapo amp and a good sub

also speaker wire should be of reasonable quality
