Hi everyone, hoping someone has run into a similar problem and can shed some light.
I'm trying to tune a 4ze1-t running a Link G4 Atom which I just finished installing a flying loom on.
During the pre-start up tests, when I got to testing the CAS after selecting the Nissan Optical 360 style sensor - it would give out really random signals. Sometime's when I twisted the shaft it would give no injector clicks then randomly start signalling but then have random dead spots? I tried a different sensor setting (LS1, Evo etc.) and it would give consistent signals but obviously in the wrong frequency and pattern as the software thinks it's a different sensor.
IS MY CAS STUFFED? IS THERE SOMETHING I'VE DONE WRONG IN THE SOFTWARE? IS MY WIRING OF THE TRIGGERS WRONG?

Re: Incorrect CAS signal in tuning
id be looking at the wiring dude, if its getting mixed signals when you spin the shaft and effecting things like your injectors
Re: Incorrect CAS signal in tuning
Haven't got experience with the link / vipec systems so dont know what your options are for cas type, but would suggest changing optical pickup type to a 36-1 arrangement as the e1 CAS is more akin to a home signal reluctor.
I wish i had something cool and witty in my signature
Re: Incorrect CAS signal in tuning
Dumb question but is your cable shielded?
Coupe rebuild number 6..

The Nissan and 4z trigger wheels are different that could be it. Nissan one has one bigger slot on the 4 tdc ones. The 4z ones are all the same.

4Z work as a pull-down voltage. You need to supply the signal wires with voltage via a 1K resistor, then the dizzy grounds it, creating the square wave. No voltage = no signal. There's a very strong chance your ECU isn't supplying the signal wires with a voltage, my Megasquirt wasn't. This has come up a few times recently, so I did a write-up.
