Crank bolt direction

Post by snickalls »

I’m sure it must be anticlockwise to remove but I just want to be super sure before putting the long pipe on my breaker bar and giving it heaps.

So, does the g161z crank bolt undo in an anticlockwise direction and any tricks out there for easy-ish removal?

Yep anti clockwise as sometimes to crack the bolt you rest a breaker bar on the chassis rail and crank the engine. Engine turns clockwise as looking at it, so bolt would undo in anti-clockwise direction.

Cheers, to you both. First thing sat morning I’m getting the pipe out and leaning anticlockwise on that bad boy.

Wouldnt have thought so but this bad boy was super tight. I had a very long pipe on my biggest 1/2 breaker bar and still had to lean on it hard!

So, yep anticlockwise and farewell yo breaker bar.
