That all depends on how much you like the gemini shfter being where it is
The remote shifter is good in the sense that it brings the gearknob back a few inches and makes it feel more like you're driving a commo or what not....and the gears do actually feel closer when shifting
To install one,the only mods you need to do,is to cut a rectangular section out of the top of your tunnel (it comes back about 100mm from the original manual cutout ) and thats about it
Is it reliable?...well i havent had any problems, nor have i heard about anyone else having them
If you want, most of the brass bushes and bearings a can be sourced and replaced to reco' the unit.Holden can still supply most of them, and others you may need to look around
If you wanted to change it back to orig',it is possible....although,you're gonna have to do something about the section that you had to cut out to install it
Hope i was of some help

Christies Beach auto wreckers supplied me with one from a Rodeo (I don't know the year/model) that is the same as the Piazza style. No need to fit a spacer plate, it bolts straight up to top of box and the bolt holes at the shifter end line up with the 2 pressed marks in the trans tunnel. close to the hand brake but should be ok. Shifter is extremely short though, just 4" including knob!
