Hi Everbody,
I found a guy who installs VB-VK LSD centres into gemini diffs.
His Name is Tony Sheen, He is based in Trafalgar, VIC.
(2 hours east of melb)
his number is: 0417 592 991
You need to supply a complete gemini diff from an RTS model gem. (TD onwards?)
Along with the LSD hat from a 6 cylinder LSD from a VB-VK commodore or a 6cyl WB ute. Tony charges around $150 to fit the centre, using new spider gears and bearings.
the diff ratio from the donor diff must be either 3.55, 3.66, or 3.98.
there are two other diff ratio's (2.77 and 3.08 ) that use a smaller carrier and will not fit. This conversion uses the origional gemini pinion and crown wheel.
You can get the LSD hat from Kingswood parts recovery in Bayswater, Melbourne. Dunno how much they are, bare in mind they are very rare. expect to pay roughly $200.

This is what my diff is and it has stood up to the punishment I have dished out so far.... Maybe a hilux diff would be stronger but this combo is good value for money.
AND you don't need to modify ANYTHING!!

VK's dont come in V6....inline six or V8 were in the VK model.
there are two types of diffs in them too. the V8 has a "10 bolt" identified by the 10 bolts in the diff backplate.
the 6 cylinders have an "8 bolt", yes you guessed it, they have 8 bolts on the back cover.
The 8 bolt lsd's are very hard to find but there are a few.
Naturally there are plenty of 10 bolt LSD's around but they are too big for the gemini. they don't fit.
