thanks for the comments, the car does come out rarely, but it now has the original black bumpers
Coupes are very hard to come by in Japan, so trying to import ones is going to be difficult. There are always numerous sedans from 1981 to 85 for sale, my favourite sedan is the last model from 1985/6, pretty much a runout model with the black top head. The car turns heads when its out, only a few people have realised what it rearly is.
Very sad Holden never brought this model out here, but do you rearly think 'we' would pay 15,000 AUD for one in the mid 80's.

importing any 'decent' ZZ/R you would nt have much change out of $12grand, thats even before any restoration work.
Finding an unmolested one is roughly around the 700,000 YEN mark, which is around 7 grand AUD before any taxes and shipping.
AU$ is very strong now
You are going to hit with taxes in Japan as well as in Australia.
compliance is only going to cost a maximum of $1000, seat belts, intrusion bars and few other little things. Anything pre 85 is easy to registerer and comply.
ZZ stuff over in Japan is getting expensive and also hard to find, I was very lucky to find a coupe, only 3 have come up for sale in the last year. There are about 20 or so ZZ/R and ZZ/T sedans on the market over there now.
Any importer will do the work for you, but you need the money beforehand. JSPEC should be able to help you out.
keep in mind a Isuzu Bellet GTR now fetch around 3,000,000 YEN (30grand)
