yeah this should b in the project forum but i have had no luck gettin into it!!!
mods can you move it please!!!
here tis the gem when i got it in november:

anyways just b4 chrissy i started to strip the girl back to her bare essentials!
here is some pics of the differences between jap gems and OZ ones
as you can see the tunnel has a extension welded on it, i always found it was a bit tight taking out a motor/box with remote shifter on a OZ spec gem, now you can see how the japs did it!
the rear seat base is shaped differently and the cushion clips in as opposed to our bolted in ones! at the right u can just see a but of the rear bulkhead, these are a complete panel unlike OZ versions, although diesels have this as well!
here is the c pillar trim, this is moulded plastic, unlike our cheap masonite board and vinyl!!
they also had insulation in the roof
no sealing of internal joins
better quality insulation
isuzu logo on all door stops
that's all for now, the car is now bare metal on all door jambs/right doors/roof/right guard, prolly 60% there after 3 days of work!!!
stay tuned i want this in under coat by monday!!!
cheers

gem
actually is a abrasive disc.....
i would of liked to dip the car in that stripper stuff but there is no where near here that does that...
i used paint stripper on the coupe and was messy....got stung heaps
sandblasting is dodgy if the operator doesn't know what he is doing
here is the car almost fully stripped>

dont park it anywhere full stop, i give it 24 hours before surface rust appears
dude now is where you grab 2lt of deoxydine, mix that 3:! (3 parts water, 1 part deoxydine), use as directed to treat metal, and then apply 1-2 coats of a sealer, then 1-2 of a primer surfacers, just to seal off the bar metal. that way you can roll it around freely. then when whoever does the repairs, the can buzz back the panels one by one as they repair them.
good effort aswell, im too slackk to touch mine, i might actually go strip the insides of the doors today and prep them up..

stripping
i guess you guys maybe jumping the gun a bit, the stripping was started 1 week ago....guess what? NO RUST.....
funny that eh????
i have been keepin a eye on it , u cant touch it with bare hands tho....
i did the same with my coupe....no rust problems there, i guess having a my own shed helps too.....don't have to move it and it won't get wet
will b etch priming shortly tho...took about 40 solid hours so far...
no intrusion bars either..... (except for the door i replaced)
here is the front apron, i modded it to look similar to the last of the zz/rs, not quite the same but close, all metal no bog required! i was quite chuffed how it turned out....
more soon....
