Don't know if he would have taken on the rust work if we had known how bad it was... he is doing a great job and yes will get a vid up once it is all finished. Maybe a walk around and in car and some drive by's... been waiting so long for this...
A tip: Unless you are well rich (in which case let's be honest, you probably wouldn't be into Gemini's!) take on one project at a time! Having 5 cars on the go has made things soooo s-l-o-w-!

No he been busy lately doing jobs for people who can pay straight away...
Still to do: 1/4 of welding to rear plus seam welding the whole rear (only spotted in) prime/paint, gastank in and plumbed in, has had breather line welded in, hook up brakes front and rear, find TX drivers side guard, modify front to take Chevette bumper, tune, reassemble interior, refit lights etc, put bonnet back on... think thats all...

Have paid him half of the running tab of 6k... will be getting back into it this week as the 2 post hoist is free so he can whip the rear wheels off to weld up the rear guards.

s*#t, hadn't added anything in some time. He was fully paid up ages ago and have since coughed up another 5hundy, he has started using the 5hundy and has welded up some new area's, gana be at least another 5hundy coming but with Xmas and my new purchase of an 82 Rodeo progress will be grinding to a halt yet again... money suxx!

http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewto ... 17&t=16958

The rodeo. Not a done deal yet, if it falls thru the money will get sunk into finishing the Chevini. Have been stalking the owner of this Rodeo to sell to me for some time so I hope it comes together...

The last pic above, the hole at the left was stitched up a while back, ole at right as well as same on other side is stuff he is currently working on.
Then he needs to seam weld all the repairs, do some strengthening on the inside of the boot and start grinding!

Still needed:
Exhaust
Weld in hand brake cable holder mounts from a gem
Hook up rear brakes, bleed system
Major rust proofing mission
Install gas tank
Fuel line/return line run (have already purachased)
Some final wiring
Finish modifying Gem speedo/tacho to fit Chevette cluster
Spray bomb exterior
Repair or find replacement drivers side guard (impossible to find... any help appreciated!)
Modify TX bumper brackets to take a chevette bumper on the front
Reassemble interior
Counting on at least half a dozen things I haven't thought about!

one small rust hole in sill and all rust repairs will finally be finished (that we know of...) so getting close... have had a quote for paint so now need to make decision if we carry on with temporary spray bomb satin black that was planned or take a bit longer and have it painted pro straight away... money money money!

bought some nice Recaro seats for it front and rear $100! Need some fairly major mods to fit though as they are from a MK4 GTI Golf, weird seat rails in those cars... rears seem to be very similar although they are in 4 pieces so need to somehow fix the two bum parts together.

Have cash saved and put aside for painting, thinking of gloss 2k black. Also have some nice rims lined up for it, buying another car that has 2sets of rims so they will do for now... (rims belong to the new car, but will steal temporarily) so all coming together just need my guard which is stuck in Christchurch since the earthquake... then it can go in for paint!
