Ok, a half year further..... I can't get de 2.2 engine to run properly. I could do it with webers, but it costs 1000 euro's to put them on the engine.
For the same amount i could put in mij red top engine (c20xe) so that's the new plan. I already have the (special) parts i need (gearbox, excaust mainfold, oilsump, etc...) The next few weeks I will refurbish the engine (the outside) and put it in my car. I put in a ecu with rewritten chip, different airbox, group A excaust, this should give around 165 HP.
I will keep you guys informed.

The engine is running, tommorow it will be examed by the officials, so that the car papers can be chanced.
Here a little film, with only the extractor under it.

Re: 1977 Opel Kadett 2.4ltr Holland(going for the red top)

Post by daddy's ride »

Almost a year further.... I have bin driving & enjoying the red top for about a year with allmost no problems.
I was planning to restorate the car in 2014 but a 19 year old &^&$$%$^&*&* without a drivers license changed the plannes. She drove into the side off the kadett wich resulted in a lot of damage. So I am rebuilding the kadett right now.

The finished red top:

The kadett will be painted in a different color, didn't like the green that much....
Updates will come in the near future :D

Bad luck on the damage mate.
I've got to get my conversion under way, sick of moving parts around.
