I've got to get my conversion under way, sick of moving parts around.
It isn't that bad, the kadett has a all risk insureance, so the damage is already paid for. I doubled the amount so i can repaint the entire car.
The originel plan was to redo the car next year, it all went in high gear. Almost forgotten what a gigantic project it is. Making around 40/50 ours a week.

Installed the rebuilded rear disc brakes:

The motormanagement light made in the old dashboard. Looks pretty originel.
Image

Put 1,5 bar pressure on top off the brake fluid. Makes it very easy to fill the system with new brake fluid.

Tomorrow gonna try to start the car.....exiting!!

I redid my little ATS wheels. Drifted into a obstacle so they wern't exactly round anymore
Had them welded and balanced. After that i had the paint chemicly removed, was very cheap and the result was great. I only had to clean them with a bit of water and a piece off scotch-brite.
Then the sanding starts with 400, 600, 800, 10000, and 1200 before making a effort for the polishing.

That's how they came back from the chemical dude

Removed the residu with a bit of water

Bought a new tuned 16v. The old one wasn't much anymore.

The specs are: 12.5;1 wiseco pistons, 270 degrees cat cams, arp bolts, balanced crankshaft etc.etc.

A friend redit the sump. Looks like new

Old 16v out to make room for the new one

Precision adjusting the cam timing
Image

powdercoated the valve cover and the distribution cover
Image

Put it in place tomorrow

We also bought a extra kadett for my wife. She likes to drive my kadett so why not  Not much welding work had to be done. Just make it reliable a go! We (I) will get it resprayed, but it will take 2 years of restoring before the paint can be sprayed.
