You may be able to have my alternator if you still need one Jonno, because of the draw of all the stuff (ignition and thermo are the killer's) and the battery being in the boot she is about 10amps shy of what I need.
So I'm gonna have to try and adapt something else

s*#t what a pain. I think i'll be ok for now.

In Amys car it'll probably have the same problem if it's not enough on yours :(

With Geminats looming here's useless post 5673ty.01-A

So far not much progress on it.

Tidied up some wires in the engine bay. Bit less (not much) of a s*#t fight under there now. Will serious fix in the coming future.
1600 is still in 2L will come next month. No time or money to throw at it.
Did I mention I got an ECU for it? That's eaten a bit.

As for current affairs diff came out over the other weekend. We've been flat strap with Nationals stuff every weekend (like physically going to the location and doing things). We are pretty sure that the pinion bearing let go.
So that's out from under the car... Pulled the cap off and the centre looks ok but we pulled what the boys think is bearing rollers which explains the above assumption.
So last night went into the bus bought a $50 diff and I'll throw that in and hope for the best..

Meanwhile the front end is up in the air to.
Drivers side has new bushes in control arms and ball joints. Got those adjustable ones in the tops to. I just need to find time/help to smash the passenger side ones in. Hopefully we can smash that out tonight/tomorrow then diff in on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday night.
Ideal goal is to have it rolling Saturday. Needs a solid clean.

I've also got some tyres to go on it which I need to have dropped off this week sometime to.

Update running out of f*#cking time.01

I've got two diffs in pieces essentially. Locked one is sitting in the drive way next to the replacement. I've checked most things over and it seems fine.
Going soft on this and will leave the locked centre out. Yeah prob dumb but will work something out with later in time.
For now the diff itself is together. Has my trailing arms and torque tube on it. I just need to pull the bearing cases out tonight (we got stuck that far without a puller) so hopefully I pull an overnighter tonight and get it all placed up and locked in.

Tyres are done.

Front end is all done I just need a grease gun to pump the ball joints full then change the rack end on the passenger side.
Car needs to drive out of the garage tomorrow night at the latest or I have to make other arrangements...

Thanks to Chrisco his puller tool thingo has saved the day and his useful handing the coupe has a working diff again.
Diff seemed pretty sweet actually. Axles were clean no slipped and oil that came out of it wasn't terrible no real nasties. Hooopppeffullly nothing bad happens.

The other things is the car hasn't been test driven yet has no rego and no greased up bushes.
New tie rod end is in and looks about 90% straight. Maybe f*#k who cares.

Will roll out tonight and see how things go.

Still haven't got the wheels back. Will get them tonight.

It lives.

Seems wrong. Front end light a/f.
No clunks in the diff. May obtain locked centre in future life.
Spins inside wheel.

Looks not as good as I remember on the 15s :(

I'll be honest.

It didn't go.

I wasn't happy with the brakes. We will have to re-assess them.

Took the other one instead

I have one crutial element to this things existence and it's not the brakes.

Lets revisit the Summernats Turbo 2L Build list:

- Get Red 2L > It's here
- Pull head and sump off Red 2L > They're off
- Get Black 2L > It's still at home
- Pull head and sump off black 2L > Probably not sure if I'll do this.
- Get decent head gasket (open to suggestions) for red 2L
- Get ARP studs for 2L (if they exist)
- Get bearings for black 2L (figure the sumps off may as well?) > Will do rings as well
- Get sump rocker inlet and exhaust gaskets for black 2L > Will get a VRS kit
- Bolt head and sump to 2L
- Find clutch
- Get flywheel machined
- Setup inlet
- Get Micks injectors and regulator
- Install reg and injectors
- Install turbo and feed/return/coolant lines
- Bolt clutch and flywheel on.
- Chuck into Red 2L
- Install to engine bay and merge with gearbox.
- Install dump pipe.
- Obtain/buy ECU > Obtained!
- Wire in
- Work something out for Dizzy
- Setup fuel system
- Buy intercooler
- Install intercooler and piping
- Attempt to start.
- Send to exhaust shop to have a flange made up to suit the exhaust.

So if you didn't get it. I bought an ecu.
I still need the rest of the go fast things however. Full throttle now. I really really need to get my s*#t together with this things.
Also need to work out something for the front brakes.

Ohh and what should I do for a lift pump? Shirley my facet external pump wont be up for it?

Yeah i don't know if i'll use them man. (like the headstuds)

I have made no progress on it yet. Uhley is going to do some wirings on it just got to find the time.
I haven't really touched it since moving it into the shed. I'm trying to work out something for the dizzy that will work for now.
Currently have zero options. Well nothing that is on the cheaper side of things.

So in prep for Gemini Nationals 2019 I've actually started working on this.

I spent about 4 hours in the shed looking at it. Moved it around and thought about doing something. Chrisco came roudn and offered no motivation to do anything so he watched me ride my motorbike around the front of the house.
Half an hour later I figured I needed to put it away. Back the coupe in in reverse and looked at the 1600.
I've started pulling it to pieces again. Take a reliable car and pull it to pieces seems like a good idea yeah? So with that I've ripped the guards off. Doing some little odds and ends to make things a little neater and more efficient. I want to be able to not only blow Lokis doors off but fry my tyres not long after.

So the idea is to get it off the ground more so so the tyres don't go flat and get flat spots and s*#t. I've decided to get an Altra 9 diff setup as well. Should be adequate for this setup I think.
Going update the fuel system as well. Change from the probably not so flash fuel hose and switch to AN fittings and teflon hosing. Just a case of saving money up and buying it all...
That's all anyway.

I feel obligated to give my 6monthly update.

So after everything that's listed above exactly f*#k all has happened. We've been in and out of surgeries and stuff.
The 2L is sitting in the middle of the garage still. Half pulled to pieces. It's probably not going to go in for Geminats at this stage.
Gotta throw money elsewhere :(

It's become the poster boi for our Magazine as well. Started a YouTube series on it for a cheap build to go to the track.

Anyway I put it all back together for a cruise a few months ago. Ended up taking Amy's sedan. So It's been sitting stagnate for months.
I put rego on it for a bit and did some driving. Took it to ACT Holden Day on show. Managed to end up on Street Machine's Instagram.

Did not a great deal with it. Had a skid pan so the locker went back in.
We've installed a Hydraulic handbrake as well which needs some work and one of the lines needs to be re-done.
Runs out of rego end of the week as well.

We are hoping to put some spanner time next year and get a few bits and pieces done on it. Mainly to make it stop excellent.

Has working pop out rear windows now as well. I had to replace one of them because I was getting the windows tinted and didn't want to lose my 1975 NRMA sticker.
Changed the shifter to a non chopped one.

Seems like a relapse

Top at the moment
Bottom this time last year

Not much has happened with the thing since my last post just with Amy in and out of hopsital it's hard to be motivated to do anything on it. Plus hot weather.
Starts and runs normally but we've had a brake problems so going to redo all the lines.
New rear rotors and pads to start with.

Micks sorta sold me a seat for the passenger side so something will actually match.

Hoping to have a few new touches for Geminats.
Red cars still broke and the white one needs some front end love.

Should be neat once done.
