Clamp plastic to face of block/head with small hole. Add trans fuid and count ml added. To calculate the swept volume, you need to input your bore and stroke measurements into this: swept volume = stroke x pi x (bore/2)^2 [where pi = 3.141] Once you have the swept volume, comp ratio = [swept volume...

I have seen a water splitter - hydrogen powered car about 5 years ago. Prototype was useless. Small hyundi getz 2 seater looking thing with 10 batteries, all pre-charged. Top speed was about 65km/h and only had a range of about 150kms. Biggest problem was weight from batteries.   ...

5 minutes to remove heater core. 1/2 hour to flush and check cooling.... Don't mean to scare my fellow gem owners, but if you've have a water leak inside the car, I strongly suggest removing the interior and the tar plates. After 4 days I still had soggy under felt and visible water beneth tar plati...

Nice idea benwahn. If you're keen, go the longest rods you can. That way you have more leverage, bigger arc at the bottom end and more time with piston at TDC. Easier to advance timing without issues and cleaner burn. If you stuff around with that you'd also get oversized valves etc. etc. Tough and ...

I agree with most of the above. Rack is last option. If possible try: 1) Move the motor up 2) Rotate turbo so its lower turbo 3) adjust sump 4) reshape bonet (don't cut bracing) Adaption would be easier that cut and weld. And yes, handling will be different. So be prepared for stuffing around alot. ...

Have done and will do again Bob. Pulled the interior out Sat. morning. Took some pics. Sunday I removed the bitumen plates as water was still traped under there. Surface rust had started. Cleaned it all with wire wheel, then rust converter. Wiped it all down with metho to lift any residue. Going to ...

Had a blocked heater core last week. So I disconnected all the hoses and flushed the system with a the garden hose. Still no good. Radiator was nice and clean, coolant good, no overheating or leaks, thermostat working properly and all pipes and hoses either new or near new. Top hose to heat very tig...

Run a thermostat! Incorrect operating temp = big problems and greater wear. As for overheating, most common are pressure leaks (coolant loss), air locks, head gasket, blockage ualuslly in the heater core. Running no thermostat will fix nothing. You need to have system prefessionally flushed. As for ...
