My mum used the words conks out 30yr ago lol.

Anyway try tightening the screws on the solenoid on the carby, the one with the wires on it.
Sometimes they loosen and maybe with you playing around it is sucking air now.

I have a similar problem too, after replacing the prop valve the brakes are 90% better but still feel like the back will lock first and the pedal is softer than before.
Can the reactor valve be insitu but worn?

Hey guys, I have a 32/36 Weber and it leaks fuel from the inlet pipe that the fuel line goes to.
Is there an easy fix with some epoxy or something?

Well I'm not much of a name dropper but superflow heads came to the party with a good head for me and confirmed my thoughts that it was previously done by a reputable "production line" remanufacture and that too much has been taken off the head and prolly a lil of the block, combined with ...

Good quality performance mufflers will lower the noise with minimal power loss... Another trick is say you have a 2 1/4" exhaust fit 2 1/2" mufflers... they flow better but still quieten it down Have to agree here, a guy running a 350 chev at the drags runs something similar (2.5in pipes ...

OK, thanx for all the reply's guys, I don't think for a minute that valves are hitting the pistons. Top pic is of no.4 and second pic is of no.2 and no.3. Gasket blew between no.3 and no.4. Piston notches are facing the front so I would assume the pistons are fitted correctly. We have a few here who...

Going across the ringland section with a straight edge the outer of the piston is deck height and the dome is above that.

Its a standard 1600 set to standard specs.

^ Not knocking you LOK15 but there are definate imprint marks in the carbon build up on the piston tops and initial measurements add up to contact. Sorry, not buying the carbon wash theory. Timing was backed off and still pinged an part throttle. When I say rattle, I mean the ping might not have bee...
