Re: Joe from Holland

Hi Joe, Welcome to OzGemini. There nothing in Australia that simply bolts in and is readily available. Except perhaps the Altra 9, a custom diff centre.

Re: diesel x member for 4z conversion

Diesel cross member brings the engine forward approximately 50mm which clears the firewall but then causes a minor issue with the bonnet clearance toward the front of the engine (if running EFI) and fan clearance issues. If going with the diesel cross member you can use an auto tail shaft with a man...

Re: Isuzu 6VE1 3.5L Quad Cam V6 Engine into a Gem

Been a bit side tracked with a couple of other projects but should be able to get back into this again soon.

The Rodeo V6 gearbox will fit but as discussed above the tunnel needs to be eased.

Re: Ideas engine wise to throw in a coupe??

Research Hyabusa V8 - 2.6 or 2.8 litre revs to something like 10,000 rpm.

Coupe door

What is the going price for coupe doors these days. This sounds a bit high but I guess that these are unique to the coupe.

Coilovers for front

Found on ebay a hotrod registered in Victoria using Gemini running gear including the front end with coilover shockies. The pictures don't show a lot of detail but shows it can be done.

Picked mine up, they look good, nicely made, rubber is firm but soft and pliable.

Apparently a lot of so called rubber products are made from a composite of rubber and other additives and the product wears prematurely. These are claimed to be made from pure rubber.

Wagon / Coupe rear window hinges are not so much of a problem. There is a seller on ebay at the moment and I know he has quite a few sets available.

I got three sets this morning. They look just like the original and are good quality, made from rubber not a composite.

Hard to get parts

What Gemini parts are getting hard to come by.

Are these getting difficult to find?

Wagon/panelvan fuel flaps
Sedan fuel flap hinges
Windscreen washer jets
Door switch for courtesy lights

What other parts are getting hard to find?

I bought a $25 ultrasonic cleaner from ALDI and ran it with the injectors in some petrol. I then set up a fuel rail, a high pressure pump and recycled fuel mixed with injector cleaner through the injectors. Apply power to the injector and run a few times for short periods so they don't burn out. My ...

If it has been sitting for a while the injectors may have gummed up.

They look like they still have that curve that makes it harder to install remove . better than nothing i guess These were copied off the originals. I think the curved design is there to fit in around the reinforced section of the pillar. Anyone tried these yet for size, fitting or anything? I haven...

I haven't got mine yet, but as soon as I do I can let you know. They are new, remanufactered from the original so being new rubber they should be soft.
