Re: Strange steering/suspension issue

My initial guess was going to be bad ball joints - that was until I read a bit further and they have already been replaced. Perhaps the quality of new stuff is not like it used to be and they have failed early??

Re: SR20 into gemini

I am not sure what you are referring to "back bottom swing arm bracket"??
When I did mine, I modified the standard sump section (alloy section of sump) to allow motor to fit lower and further back. I am not sure what your rear sump pan looks like. I have some pics - but not here at work.

Re: FIA Homologation papers - GROUP A/C PF50 PF60 and PF60E

Are those disc dimensions for JR120 / Piazza turbo? I cant forsee the JR130 / Non turbo hat height being massively different but you never know i suppose. Thickness rules it out immediately though. These dims are for the Aussie YB turbo Piazza's. Elky will be able to confirm about the N/A twin cam ...

Re: FIA Homologation papers - GROUP A/C PF50 PF60 and PF60E

This is the information for the Piazza fronts:
Part # RDA7532 (Pair)
Type Vented
Diameter 250mm
Hat height 32mm
New thickness 18mm
Minimum thickness 16.6mm
68mm hub hole
4 bolt

So it is definitely not Piazza.

Re: FIA Homologation papers - GROUP A/C PF50 PF60 and PF60E

I wonder what disc the used for the Group 2 Ventilated setup?
It says:
VENTILATED FRONT DISC BRAKE, PHOTO F
PARTS No. 91305324.
DISC THICKNESS : 22 mm
Perhaps Piazza??
Still using the standard looking gemini caliper (perhaps with a spacer block to make room for the thicker ventilated rotor)

Re: Rear disc conversion

Was about to add not to forget the spigot/spacer ring when doing the VL rear disc to locate it onto the axle, but seeing as your doing the Altra9 it wont matter as they already have a larger lip to suit the VL disc. Only if you tell them that is what you are doing... so be sure to mention it on the...

Re: Rear disc conversion

Look at the longish tubes on the hand brake cable mounts in the picture on this website (just under the disc front and centre)
http://www.turbogemini.com/Rear%20disk%20kit.htm
This is like what I did.
Going from the words in Gene's conversion thread - needs to be 45mm long...

Re: Rear disc conversion

Handbrake mod is just a sleeve welded on the backing plate where the h/b cable runs through to act as a spacer (so you can use gemini h/b cable without mods). Details will be on the forum page (pictures - probably not anymore). I can not advise about master cylinder / proportioning valve as my setup...

Re: Radiator with opposite hose fittings

Most times - just take exiting rad to radiator mod and get them to swap over the outlets... With my sr, I had all sorts of special angled fittings made up to suit my install - it is not normally that simple. G180W will be somewhat easier as it is likely to be a bolt in swap - but check with Elky - I...

I have my master mounted inside the car at the pedal with remote reservoir in the engine bay. I do not have pics handy at the moment. It was not a nissan master - some light truck thingo.

Re: TX Voltage Regulator - Charge Light - Instrument Cluster

Have you checked that both plugs on the back of the cluster are pressed fully on. I got some weird dash light action one time and it turned out to just be the plugs not on properly. No I haven't, thanks for the suggestion. Are you talking about the cluster where the voltage regulator is, under the ...

Re: Rear brake disk donors

A lot of good performing modern cars of a Gemini size and weight run 195/50/15 which is a great tyre size on a 6.5 inch rim on a Gemini. Great maybe, but anything over 6.0 inches is illegal in Qld (and all states I think ) unless engineered. I don't think there is an actual "ban" on anyth...
