Re: HELP NEEDED! - To diagnose a Brake Issue
I have a couple in my shed. Where are you located? You can get them from any good brake place. Any brake master from TD to TG will fit as far as I can remember. If you live anywhere near Wollongong I can give you one for free

Re: HELP NEEDED! - To diagnose a Brake Issue
If the booster was the problem then your brake pedal would just get hard. There may be a leak in the diaphragm in the booster that could be causing the rough idle but not your brake issue. It sounds like you master is the problem though. It is "bypassing" and needs replacing. Easy job and ...

Re: Having trouble timinig my gem after installing gilmer dr
Not quite right Moley. The distributor can be put i 180 degrees out so you need to know the position of the valves. The only way to do that is to take the rocker cover off as mentioned earlier.

Re: Having trouble timinig my gem after installing gilmer dr
Rocker cover needs to be removed so you can see the valves rocking as mentioned by tobyj otherwise you could be 180 degrees out. I find it easier,i nstead of pushing the car, to put a socket and bar on the bolt in the centre of the harmonic balancer and turn the engine with that.

Re: Electrical
If the car stalls after the battery is disconnected then there is definitely a charging problem. Not necessarily the alternator though. Is the red cable from the battery terminal connected to the back of the alternator? Has it been melted? Check all fuses. I am not 100% sure but there may be a fuse ...

Re: replaced dizzy cap now car wont start!!!
Are you sure you set the timing right as I said? The dizzy could still be 180 degrees out and run like a dog. Did you make sure number one was in the firing position by looking at the rockers? If you are satisfied you have done the timing correctly then do a radiator pressure test. See if it holds p...

Re: replaced dizzy cap now car wont start!!!
What he said^ Sounds like you will have to take the rocker cover off. Then turn engine by hand (Reds off) until #1 is in compression stroke. You can tell this by lining up TDC on crank and making sure #1 valves are not "rocking". The rockers must not be anywhere near a lobe on the cam. Onc...

It will never sit right. No matter how long it is in there. Mine is 4 years old and still has a bulge but it isn't that much of a problem.
