The engine I am going to set up is a g161 engine (1600cc) The chevette forged pistons i have are from a chevette 1600 engine. The crown height of the piston is lower than the g161 pistons so i am using the G180/200 crank to get the pistons back to the top of the block. the stroke difference is about...

Bore and stroke work out square at 82x82mm. Approx 1730cc. I do not know what the volume of the cyl head is.

Here is a pic of both sets of pistons. TRW forgies. Cost me $120 bucks U.S. from Ebay.

Isuzu gG161 engines and chevette engines share the same standard bore but the pistons are different. the gudgeon pin on the chevette is larger and the crown height of the piston is different. If you put G161 pistons in a chevette engine they will pop out of the top of the block.I have 2 sets of forg...

This problem is sometimes referred to as lean pop. It is caused by too lean a mixture from the carby when the throttle is closed to allow the plug to ignite it. It builds up in the exhaust and then ignites. Thats what the coaster enricher solenoid if for. It richen up the mixture enough for the engi...

CA18det uses different injectors and they use dropping resistors on the injector feeds that the CA18de does not use. The ECU also has a different memcal. I suspect that the det injectors are of lower impedance. I tried to run my de motor with a det ecu and it didn't run...just randomly coughed a few...

The half moon seals on my kawasaki uses to leak until I ran a bead of super glue around them. Now they stay in place and don't leak. I usually stick the rocker gasket to the rocker cover with some silicone . That way it comes of easily with the cover and doesn't slip out or break.

Or you could do what some idiot did to my daughters wagon before we picked it up. Car obviously wouldn't move so the handbrake cable was cut, then they cut the bundy pipe on both sides of the diff then cut the rear brake line halfway under the floor. All that was needed was a tap on the drums with a ...

Gene, how long ago did you use A&A for your chrome plating. I had the TX rear bumper done there a few years ago and the chrome washed off after about a month and only the nickel plate remained. I will never go back there again.

If its a sedan then the spacer and the longer bolts fit the belts to the floor below the B pillar. Should be a wave washer under the bolt head and a normal washer on the other side of the belt fixture. Tranny tunnel fitting has a normal washer under the bolt head. and the B pillar fitting has the bo...

Unfortunately the pics make the paint look a lot better than it really is. The underlying surface rust will need to be removed which means a strip to bare metal on all the surfaces facing upwards. It has had a repair at the front of the bonnet and at the boot at the lock position. There are several ...

New Addition to the fleet.

Gave my new aquisition a wash and took it for a drive today. Picked it up last weekend....1976 TX with 75k on the clock. Original paint and interior is mint except for the torn fabric in the drivers seat. It just needs a new tie rod end and I had to put a new battery in. It started and ran after sit...
