Single or twins? If you are running a single dellorto it could be the size of the needle and seat. A standard 40 mm dellorto is only designed to let fuel in the bowl for half and engine cos they normally run in pairs. You can buy a larger needle and seat specifically for single carb set up. If the ...

Ideal Fuel Pump

So I'm getting fuel cut when drifting. Basically I can get through 1 full corner or a few munji's in at full throttle (3rd gear), using second seems to bring it on quicker (high revs). And then fuel cut hits and I have to back off coz there is literally no fuel to burn. It seems pretty evident to me...

From toby's analysis, timing chain seems most likely.

Just had a full day on the track yesteday and it performed great and had no issues at all. still plenty of power.

Oil, pressure and temp gauges are next on the list. Then we can know a little more about what's going on down there.

Motor is genes old g200z. unknown K's on it.
I since put the 1600 head on it. it gets a flogging. its in a drift car. Got pretty hot last time I was out on track. (boiling over hot)

Gradually started making this noise. Wasn't as bad when I first got it. Still a rattle though.

Thanks Toby, I ran out and popped the rocker off and checked it and it was all fine. The chain was sitting centred, the tensioner all the way out and when you rotate the engine normal rotation it would stay tensioned, when you tried to rotate it the other way it would try to de-tension but is stoppe...

Rattly G200Z

This is a quick video of my G200Z, It's a high compression engine 10:1, electronic ignition, 4-2-1 extractors, ported head, sidedraft dellorto 40 carbie. http://youtu.be/Wd6Wf7j8w4E It's a bit hard to tell in the video but it sounds overly rattly compared to other G-series I've had. Anyone got any i...

Radiator cap pressure ratings

Hey all, was in the shop today after a new radiator cap and the guy proceeded to ask what pressure cap did I want and listed about 5 different pressures from 4 - 20 psi. I can see the sense in not going for lower pressure, it would always boil over, but is there a problem in going with a 20 psi cap?...

Just got my electronic one regraphed recently for my ~10:1 compression g200z. After having a stab in the dark regraphing it myself a few times before I figured I'd spend the coin and get it done on the machine. Turns out I wasnt far off by following the guide in the technical section. You will pay r...

Going through this process atm with a TD. In the early models you need to watch your height of the radiator as the lower radiator support is right under the radiator unlike the late model which has it further forward. Celica RA40 and Diesel radiator will not fit an early model without re-coring to a...

I wouldn't go down the path of a cam if you plan on towing. Your low end power will be all gone. If it was dedicated towing, you could get a high-torque cam.
