This completely depends on the features your ECU has and what you are going to use. I've recently removed maybe 2kg of wiring that was made redundant due to going EFI. Almost nothing was needed on the driver's side of the engine bay - no dizzy, no carb wiring, no fuel pump relays. It's a case by cas...

Someone needs to work out a great brake upgrade for wheels under 15". I wonder what they use in Europe... Things such as VT brakes are definite overkill on a light car like a Gem.

Mesh wheels would not be why you would do this. You'd do it for Starsharks or Dunlop trispokes or something similarly as badass.

When I sanded down some guards in my youth I remember there being thick filler near the rear bottom of the arch (i figured it was used to make sure everything was neat). Panel beater says there shouldn't be any in the guards at all.... Anyway, they're at the panel shop, he's going to fill the ariel ...

I'm probably not the best person to answer this (as I'm not in Aussie), but; yes, a lot of people have. And a lot of us have made our own similar solutions as well. The big problem with the McDonanld Bro's kit (and any similar diff mounting solutions) that I have read about is that in many parts of ...

I'm not planning to drive around. Just to store the guards. I'll talk to the panel beater and see if they want to put some sealer on them.

Thanks guys!

I was advised not to paint bit by bit but I've been meaning to paint for at least 5 years and this seems to be the only way it'll get done. Is there some way I can keep the guards free of rust till painting then? I heard that if you just make sure you keep all the paint together in one big can the c...

Bare metal

Hey guys, I'm starting to paint the coupe and have had my spare set of guards stripped back to bare metal. This has removed all the "factory" bog. They'll go to the panel beaters next but is it going to take a long time to build them back up again? Will they need the car to do the work? Ch...

Thought I might add to this now that I've installed my adjustable ball joints. Their adjustment is constrained by the shape of the control arms closest to the shocks. Here is a pic: http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/848/upperarmprob.png I think I'm going to take the arms out and either smash them f...
