That's not a good spot for the battery. Should get it in a box or something, unless you like fire if someone rear ends you. Otherwise, very neat.

If my car gets rear ended to the point where the battery rips from that location AND sets the car on fire, then I'm letting it burn. It'll be written off anyway.

I bought a drycell so that I didn't have to have a big gross box in the boot, I've had acid problems in the past.

I'm not having a dig at you or trying to troll.

It's not a case of it coming loose. You have a fuel source and a ignition point right next to each other. A dry cell battery will also start a fire if it sparks. You have none of the terminals covered.
If you have a situation where it does catch on fire from a accident. You won't have a choice about it burning to the ground, problem is that you will most likely burn with it.
There is only a thin layer of fabric on the back seat that protects you from a fire in the boot. And the interia of a gemini burns really well and fast.

That big ugly box may save your life.

PS. If you put a battery near a fuel tank in motor racing it has to be double isolated from each other....eg a big ugly box and a fire wall. And race car drivers won't be texting somebody as they drive into the back of someone at a set of lights.

I do understand what you're saying, it would probably be good to cover the terminals with something.

I do however, have no rear seats, but instead have a sheet steel firewall where the seats used to be

so your saying a bull bar caving the ass of a car in is going to bounce off a thin plastic battery box? there is no cover over the batter when its in the front of a car.. hows this any differnet ;)

id suggest puting terminal covers over it thats about it.

No but mine just has a separate top and the box is independently fixed down so if I all caves in its more likely that the top will stay on if the hit isn't that severe but having nothing and it gets tapped the strap will just break probably the battery will tip over and arc out on the body.
