15x7 +20

Post by vivoacer »

Looking at buying either 15x7 +20 or 15x8 +0 rims for my car, I have done a fair bit of reading on here and still having trouble, Luke's old gemini with 15x8 just didn't quite fit under the guards, will the 15x7 +20 fit?

The tyre will be stretched so I will be able to get away with a bit of clearance

Will it scrub on superlows all round?
Clearance with the shocks?

Cheers

I have 15x7 +26 with hoppers front brakes. These push the track out 10mm so they wheels are effectively 15x7 +15. They fit decently at the front. Little bit of scrubbing on outer guard at full lock. I have 195/50s too, so no stretch. Also have adjustable ball joints.

15x7 is perfect offset with 195 50 15. (205 50 15. slight rubbing on rear.)

king springs superlow all round with lipped guards to all corners.

no issues at all.

I have pics of the rear but I have a hilux diff with Corolla discs so probably not of use to you if you are still standard rear end.

Looks good man, full lock not an issue?
So you said they are 15x7 +16 or +26? because if thats +16 and im after +20 its gonna be pretty tight fit haha

They are +26, but I have Hoppers brakes which push the track out 10mm. It's effectively the same as running +16 on normal Gemini hubs/brakes.

Full lock can be an issue when you are going over some uneven ground, but only on the outer guard which isn't really an issue as you're never going that fast anyway. And my tyres are under the guards at the front - it depends how low you are too.

running 15 x 7 +20 on 195/50's on the zzt, been lowered 3 inchs, had to lip the rears as big bumps would scrape

it still scrapes a bit but using a adjustable panhard would fix that but i have not bothered

Elky would you have the same issue with 185/40/15s on instead of the 195/50/15

They will be too tiny in the rolling diameter, look for 185/55's etc, and you would want to roll your guards anyway...
